I'm off to Crete!

....is something Jerry said back in the war, and I can repeat now.

I'm off on vacation till the 3rd of October so don't wait up for me. There will be plenty more to show after I get back as the plus side of my current unemployment means I can paint loads. Downside...well, you know the downside.

Till then some teasers of what you are going to see in October :)

Cu all back in October!

Russian Military Police UAZ

Meant to get this done for the Big Game of this year but with me unable to attend it got sidetracked. Now it has gone straight to my Stalker pile. RH Models UAZ, decals by TL Decals

Sneaky bastard!

Nothing to see here......

Or is there......?

2 different vehicles:

The inspiration:

German Early War force for Barbarossa, part 10

Finished a few items.

2 supply / light trucks

A staff car (a captured Russian one, repainted)

And I've been trying out Piers method for skin. Rather happy with it, I always found my skinpaint a bit too zombie like :)

Yet another entry for the S&S painting comp

...though if I'm not able to finish the 2nd part ot this one, it is not legible of course.

Slightly reworked S&S Lada with all of the tufts I had left.

S&S Painting Comp: Entry 2 of 2 - Militia Panhard, 1976

My second part of the entry is a S&S Panhard with a 90mm gun, based on the single picture of a finished kit I found a while back:

I didn't make a straight copy colour wise (it looks too much like UN white to me) but otherwise I stuck too it quite well I think.

In case you are wondering, it's a Lebanese Militia (hence the stylised Cedar)

S&S Painting Comp: Entry 1 of 2 - Decoy!

Finished the first part of my entry for the S&S Painting Comp over at the Guild.

The idea came while surfing for information about the Yugoslav Civil War and I found a few shots of various Serbian decoys.
Some were as crude as a metal pole stuck through the windscreen of an old saloon car - from the air that looks suspicious. (BBC News) So why not?

Base is a S&S Lada, pipe is a piece of brass tube.

Recycled a roadsign to replace the windscreen :)

Russian Early War force for Barbarossa, part 1

A box of second hand refugees arrived earlier this week and has spent the time getting stripped, cleaned and refurbished.

First up is a Red Star T-28

I need to fill up some holes, put it back together again, magnetise the turrets, add  4 machineguns, propably replace the main gun barrel with a brass tube as it seems chipped and base it.
It came as a pair, just what I need for the first scenario I'm building them for.

German Early War force for Barbarossa, part 9

Picked up 2 Panzerjager 1's from Britannia for this project, but 1 came with a busted barrel. Grubby is sending a new one but I think I will send it to the Afrika box.

Gunner is fixed in place, commander is pinned but still removable for painting. Nice little tank, and with the drilled out muzzle it looks so much better.
Added to the paint line, not sure when it will be finished.
